it all worked out in the end.

We didn't get Abby.  7 other families showed up and someone else won the raffle.  It was pretty sad and we spent the rest of the morning sulking, shared an apple fritter, made a vow that we wouldn't enter a raffle like that again, and started dreaming new dreams about a new pup.  

After a little internet searching, we were pretty sure we found him.  Our pup.  I mean really, our pup.  The only little red guy out of a litter of brown Aussies.  We called the breeder and within an hour we were holding him.  Our little love.  At only 3 weeks old, he struggled to open his eyes, but I know he knew we were there.  He licked our hands and smelled my scarf and fell asleep in the crook of our necks.  I could've let him stay there forever.  On November 15th, two days before my 23rd birthday, we'll pick him up and bring him home to be ours forever.  Ours!

We love him already.  In two weeks we're going to visit him again so he learns our voices and our smells and our faces.  We are so excited to watch him grow!  (Aren't you?!)
