J&J

Today saw Julie & Julia with mom.  We laughed our way through it, looking at each other, holding hands during the sweet parts, and loving every bit of it.  Left the theatre happy, hungry, and inspired to cook. (and eat!)

So...here's the deal.  When the movie comes out on DVD Dan & I will hold a dinner party at our place.  Bring a course and a bottle of wine and we'll dine through the movie. (which is how I think it should be watched!)  I'm thinking 6 or 7 courses will do.  Want to join us?  Make a mental note and I'll get back to you in a couple months.

Until then, let's all brush up on our cooking skills, shall we?  According to Danny's co-workers, Dan's wife makes the best zucchini bread ever, but I don't think Julia Child would settle for bread as a course.  Oh well, to each her own.

Happy 3-day weekend to you! It's going to be a great one...

bon appetit!

8 left some love:

  1. Mitch & I loved it! Sooo great! This week alone I've made real spag & meatsauce, chicken & gravy with mashed potatoes & biscuits & tomorrow nite is pizza soup! Sounds wierd but it's sooo good! And of course oatmeal cookies tomorrow for a lil trip we are taking to San Diego. After praying for our food I say, "Bon Appetit!" Yay!

  3. My mom and I went to see it together too and we absolutely loved it! In the beginning of the movie, my mom leaned over and said, "You are a lot like her" because I love creating things in the kitchen and of course I love to eat. Then a couple of minutes later her husband walked in and she called him Paul. My mom and I both looked at each other and giggled a little. I told Paul later that day that I also wanted to start having dinner parties. What a fun movie. :) Bon Appetit!

  5. I guess I need to go see the movies. I don't like to cook, and I'm not good at it, either. I could use some inspiration!
