I arrived half an hour ago to my parents' house and now I am lying in my old bed wide awake. There are many potential reasons for this. It might be because Jake is lying right next to me and keeps fidgeting. Or it might be that the digital clock on my night stand is way too bright. Or maybe it was from driving with the radio blaring for the past hour, trying to keep myself awake while pondering whether the first four minutes of "I Will Possess Your Heart" is really necessary (I settled with yes- it adds to the integrity of the song)...but in all reality, I think it's because it feels like Christmas Eve.
You know the drill...you are so excited because you know a stocking and a few mysterious and beautifully wrapped presents will be waiting for you first thing in the morning. You can hardly wait to see just what lies beneath the snowman and reindeer-printed paper.
As many of you know, tomorrow morning my niece will be born and everything about her is a mystery. How much will she weigh? Will she resemble her big sister? Will her fingers be long? How big will her feet be? Will she have a lot of hair, or will it be thin? What color will her eyes be? What will her cry sound like? How will I feel when I see her, touch her, hold her? How will Taylor react?
I feel like a child again!
I hope to update you tomorrow. Please be praying for my family in the meantime. Thank you, friends!

ReplyDeleteYay! Congratulations! I can't wait to see all of the lovely pictures of the new baby. :)
ReplyDeleteI think the real reason why you couldn't sleep was because the song "I Will Possess Your Heart" was stuck in your head. And just the thought of some freak taking and possessing your heart kept you up all night... Okay not really but new babies in the family are really exciting congratulations Auntie!!!
